The 2007 Oregon Trucking Association Maintenance and Technology Council - Technicians Competition was held on June 23rd. The competition this year was made up of a written test and seven stations (electrical, A/C, engine, pre-trip, brakes, tires and PTO). There were 21 contestants across the state with 25 volunteers to make it happen. First place was awarded to Grant Cherry of Wal-Mart Transportation in Hermiston, OR. Second place was awarded to Mike Vallery of Oak Harbor Freight in Portland, OR. Third place was awarded to Donald Valentine of Gordon Trucking of Medford, OR.
Grant Cherry will be going to Nashville to compete in the SuperTech2007 Competition.
