As a small fleet, we have experienced several issues:
1-It seems as the lables are both green for LSD & ULSD. So my Driver drives thru the fuel island and sees a green lable and says okay I found an ULSD location.
2-We run 35 '08 Pete's with C-15 Asert engines. These engine are very sensitive to LSD and will actually make acid. Tears up a number of engine parts that get very costly. Cat will take a fuel sample and if your over 15 PPM, no warranty.
3- These 35 units have regen issues too numerous to mention. DPF gets clogged. There is no way this filter will last 250K miles. Most of my units have less than 50K in miles.
4- No one knows how to repair these regen issues, Peterbilt nor Caterpillar dealers. Trucks are down for days even weeks.

I am all for clean air, but this is unacceptable. A company can go broke with all this down time. This reminds me of the first go-round we have with 121 (ABS) brakes.

You really cant blame the fuel supplier for trying to cover their butt. I am in the fuel transport business and sometimes we get blamed for contaminating the product and it turns out it was out of spec when we loaded it. We keep a lot of samles for that reason.
