The National Association of Pupil Transportation (NAPT) has named the winners of its 2009 America’s Best Technician and America’s Best Inspector school bus maintenance competitions held in Greenville, SC.
David Smith from Ohio won the technician title and Nikolas Warejcka from Colorado took home the top prize in the inspector competition.
Michelin North America hosted the national gathering this week at its Sales Training Center in Greenville.
To qualify as America’s Best technician and inspector, competitors were scored on both written examinations and multiple hands-on components. The exams covered technical aspects of various school bus components, including electrical systems, brakes, engines, suspensions, drivetrains and body systems.
This examination was prepared and administered by The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE).
