International Lubricants has announced another esteemed lubricant technology award - the 2009 North American Technology Leadership Award - from research and consulting firm Frost & Sullivan.
Since 1984, International Lubricants has been a leader in researching, developing and manufacturing patented high-performing, ester-based synthetic lubricants and related products for automotive, industrial, marine and agricultural applications.
“The Technology Leadership Award is a prestigious recognition of International Lubricants’ accomplishments in the lubricant additives industry,” said Stephen Spivey, a Frost & Sullivan research analyst. “Our unique approach in research philosophy and methodology enabled us to determine how best-in-class companies worldwide manage growth, innovation and leadership.”
The following criteria were used by Frost & Sullivan to benchmark the performance of competitors for the award: development of new technologies; leverage of new technologies; R&D spending; brand perception; and customer value.
International Lubricants made headlines as tribology pioneers in the automotive industry through its formulation of LXE (Liquid Wax Ester) Technology, a synthetic molecular replacement for sperm whale oil.
To date, the company holds several hundred worldwide patents and has won numerous technology and product awards.
